If you’re a ballerina or ballerino (hey, there’s no shame in that! We all love a man who can hold his own on the dance floor), you’re probably familiar with Chacott, the 2nd largest retailer for ballet makeup in the world. Initially starting of as a manufacturer and retailer of ballet product in 1950, Chacott has expanded to cover various dance and artistic categories, from gymnastics to ballroom dancing, and even launched their own line of stage makeup.
Their stage makeup has become so popular amongst Japanese consumers that Chacott has launched a HD range of products, specially tailored for the needs of consumers to wear on an everyday basis. Lightweight, long-lasting and affordable, Chacott makeup has slowly made it way to become one of the most popular makeup brands in Japan.
Chacott HD Range
Lucky for us, Chacott is finally available in Singapore and we were invited to a sneak preview of the entire range of products that will be launched come October 2013 and which products we can’t wait to get our hands on!
The sneak preview was held at Plaza @ Cosme, conveniently located at 100AM, Tanjong Pagar, which stocks cult Japanese brands that aren’t carried anywhere else on the island!
Inside the shop:
And of course, the stars of the day: Chacott cosmetics!
Skincare products and makeup removers which feel amazing on the skin. Our favourite is the Beauty Cleansing Water (SGD$23) which removes all your makeup with just a single cotton pad!
Multi-tasking eyeshadows that double up as blush, contour and highlight! (SGD$22)
Lip colours in pan form (SGD$18) for convenient storage
Once dried on the lids, these glitter liners (SGD$48) aren’t going anywhere!
These shimmery loose powders are so finely milled that they leave a subtle but iridescent glow on the face, great for natural-looking highlighting.
Glass Powder (SGD$35)
Pearl Series (SGD$22)
Falsies (SGD$23-25) and very creamy yet pigmented eyeliner pencils (SGD$18)
Liquid eye liners (SGD$32) and mascara (SGD$32)
Enriching HD Powder (SGD$33) that is supposed to be more hydrating and feels better on the skin than the usual range of powders
Face and body foundation (SGD$36-50) to achieve a full coverage makeup look
These foundations also provide a full coverage base: Creamy foundation (SGD$55) and Stick foundation (SGD$33)
HD Enriching O2 base (SGD$30) that can be used under the HD Powder to achieve a lightweight but flawless finish!
These brushes are quite pricey but are incredibly soft and of very good quality since they are all hand-made in Japan. Do considering investing in getting some of these if you use makeup on a regular basis, as they will last you for years to come. (SGD$15-$135)
